Graaco Complex
Graaco complex (70,000 sq m) in Coevorden has been sold.
A consortium of private investors has acquired the more than 70,000 sqm complex of Graaco in Coevorden by means of a sale and leaseback transaction. This is the largest logistics transaction in the North / East of the Netherlands in years.
The objects consist of a total area of more than 70,000 sqm divided over various logistics buildings. In addition, the approximately 200,000 sqm plot offers various development opportunities for future expansion for Graaco. The selling parties are the shareholders of Graaco, who thus ensure the continuity of the company for the coming decades. In the coming years Graaco intends to further expand the business activities at this location. For many years Graaco has been serving a large number of customers in various markets with an emphasis on the food and feed sector and was designated by the Dutch government as a “crucial company” during the Covid pandemic.
Parties have not disclosed further details about the purchase price.
Ben Blog, Managing Director of Graaco comments:
“Coevorden is increasingly developing into the Venlo of the North. The complex is located in close proximity to the A28, A37 and the German A31 motorways. We are the only logistics service provider in the Netherlands to be directly connected to both the Dutch and European rail networks. There are currently rail connections with the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and with various Northern and Eastern European countries. Through this sale and leaseback transaction, Graaco will be able to expand its services in the coming years with more CO-2 friendly distribution solutions. It also enables further growth of our Value-Added-Logistics activities, with which we play a crucial role in the supply chain of domestic and foreign producers and traders. ”
Graaco was advised by Oreijs Capital & Management, CMS, CVO International and commercially by NL real estate - Knight Frank.
